I know it’s only the 3rd day of 2019 but … 

Maybe you experienced a loss of some sort.

Maybe you received a bad report or terrible news.

Maybe you are still experiencing the same problems that you were facing in 2018.

Maybe something or someone has gotten in the way of the goals and desires you set for this New Year.

Maybe you had zero expectations for this New Year.

Maybe you are not as hyped or as motivated as you were seconds before the ball dropped.

Maybe you are battling the same struggles that you swore up and down that you would conquer in 2019.

If I can be honest …

It’s so much easier to give in and submit to our emotions and our thoughts.

It’s so much easier to complain and vent to anyone and everyone about what’s going wrong.

It’s so much easier to retaliate.

It’s so much easier to take matters in to your own hands.

It’s so much easier to give up.

It’s so much easier to sit in a puddle of discouragement and hopelessness.

BUT GOD … 

He is Love.

He is our Strength.

He is Forgiving.

He is Powerful.

He is All-Knowing.

He is a Miracle Worker.

He is a Way Maker.

He is our constant Companion.

He is our Peace that surpasses all understanding.

He is our Protector.

He is our Defender.

He is our Provider.

He is our Comforter.

His grace is sufficient.

His mercies are new EVERY morning.

His love is everlasting.

He supplies ALL of our needs.

He is our Healer.

He is our Deliverer.

He dwells in us.

He is Faithful.

He is our Rest.

He is our Sure Foundation.

He is upholding all things by the Word of His Power.

He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

He is working in us.

He is for us, not against us.

He is always leading us in triumph in Christ.

He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

He is our Hope of Glory.

He is equipping us.

He is giving us the keys to His Kingdom.

He is filling us with wisdom and spiritual understanding.

He is anointing us for service.

He gives us His armor.

He works ALL things together for good and for His glory.

He is faithful to complete the work He began in us.

He is teaching us how to profit, leading us in the way we should go.

He is the Way, Truth and Life.

He is receiving all the glory.

He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

He is WORTHY to be Praised!

He is SO much more than everything listed above.

It’s so easy for us to fall victim to the lies of the enemy and even the lies we make ourselves believe but mannnnn, what a difference it makes when we fix our eyes on God and gain a fresh perspective.

God’s ways and thoughts are beyond us. He sees things from a higher perspective. When times are hard, we immediately want to know why, so that we can make sense of our circumstances and move on. Yet God sees from a far more distant horizon called eternity. Our lives are a beautiful pattern of journeying with God.

Nothing is wasted, nothing is unimportant to God. But quick explanations of what we’re going through will always be inadequate to the larger spiritual meaning of our journey. God is creating something original with our lives – something of eternal significance which will only be apparent to us at the end.

This side of heaven, however, our sight will always be impaired. But there is reason to hope that with the help of the Holy Spirit our weak vision can be sharpened and enlarged, enabling us to see farther through the cloudy glass in front of us.

May God continually improve our vision, not only for our own spiritual benefit but also so that we can give those who are traveling alongside us some idea of what it means to see with the eyes of God.
