Upon doing some reading online today, I came across an article – How to Help Your Children Read the Bible.
Not only is it important for me to read the Bible & learn more about Jesus but it’s just as important for my children to learn about Jesus too. My prayer is that they will accept Him as their Lord & Savior someday – sooner than later – just as we have. This is a decision they can only make but it is our responsibility as their parents to teach them about Jesus & show them the way. It is also our responsibility to be the best example we can be by showing them the true meaning of unconditional love, grace, mercy & forgiveness – just like our Heavenly Father shows us – day in & day out.
Train up a child in the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. – Proverbs 22:6
My 9 year old son is assigned to read a book every night & keep a reading log for homework. I never want to force anything upon my children but I have encouraged him to read the different stories in the Bible as part of his assignment. He reads one chapter and shares a brief summary of the story on his reading log. Sometimes he’s all for it. Other nights he rushes through it. He’s a kid! What’s important is that the seeds are being planted.
Here are the two Bibles I encourage him to read from. I am looking to purchase more faith based books for his age as these are for ages 8 and below. I will be sure to share them when I do. My son also enjoys going on the Bible App for Kids. That could also be an option to introduce to your child – it’s fun & very educational.
Don’t get discouraged if your child gives you a hard time at first. Show them grace & continue to pray for them. Then maybe try again with a different approach. Just don’t give up. It’l be worth it & they will thank you for it.

I hope this post has encouraged you. Don’t forget to read the article.
Until next time, many blessings & much love! – ππ»
