Czech Makes the Best Beers in the World

Wonder why Prague is on almost every tourist’s wish list of destinations? It’s the beer! Prague holds the illustrious title of being the first producer of the most popular beer in town: Czech beer, more popularly known in its easier-to-spell form, lager.

Man’s best invention was first produced in Plenz, in Plzensky Prazdroj Brewery, which is less than 100kms away from Prague. Today, lager is still a-brewin’ and the best known brew is Pilsen Urquell. Sounds familiar? It should be, as it is pilsen that is an even more popular term than lager.

Czech BeerDon’t think, however, that Czech has only one product to be proud of. In fact, they have hundreds of brews in this mighty little country. And don’t worry if you can’t pronounce them right, or even read them right – who can after a couple of beers?

You simply walk to a pub and ask for their specialty, and you are on your way to getting…well, drunk. Each pub will have only one brew so don’t worry about losing track of what you’ve had.

To taste a dozen brews. You simply need to pay homage to a dozen pubs. Not only pubs sell beer in Czech. As a country claiming to have the best beers in the world, they sell it anywhere: in beer halls, hotels, even sidewalk cafes! And to add to the ambiance of being merry, you can grab any available you see without having to fall in line. So drink up, be merry and have Oktoberfest anytime, and prove to the world id Czech beers are indeed, the best beer in the world!
