Work is the number one enemy of entertainment and the insane schedules force us to postpone some of the things that we’ve been dreaming of. When you add the distance and the high costs into the equation, it’s fairly easy to understand why many gay people settle with the coffee shops and restaurants in the New York City, instead of traveling to the west coast. San Diego Hillcrest Area offers you much more than a nice evening out and the gay bars here are nothing like the ones in Las Vegas Area or elsewhere.
It’s not necessarily the quality of the service or the products they sell there that makes them special, but the atmosphere created by friendly people. Those who’ve been living for too long in New York City might be a little surprised by the laid-back people and would even consider them too friendly to be sincere. The truth is that the coffee shops in the San Diego Hillcrest Area is full of tourists all year long, and they are here simply to have fun and to befriend other gay people.
Those really lucky will visit the west coast during the Pride festival which is just as intense in San Diego as it is in the San Francisco, Castro Area. Frankly, the effort of traveling here during these celebrations is worth it, regardless if you are living on the opposite coast or in the neighboring state. Have fun and don’t hold back, just make sure to book a room in one of the hotels a few weeks in advance, because there will be many more like yourself attending the Pride.
